Tutorial Video: Editing Your Website

This tutorial teaches you how to place and edit text, photos and video on your EVWebs website.

To access this feature, you will need a username (typically your email address) and a temporary password provided by EVWebs support. Then you can access the website editor by going to www.(yourwebsitehere).com/login, or click the login link at the bottom of your website's homepage.

How do I transfer my domain to EVWebs?

You may choose to transfer your domain to EVWebs, because not only do we manage all the settings for you, but there is no charge for hosting your domain. Here is how you transfer:
  1. You must change the administrative email and\or primary contact of your domain on your current domain registrar to support@evwebs.com. This will allow EVWebs to manage your domain as long as your website is hosted with us.
  2. Ensure that "Privacy" for your domain is turned off, and\or the domain is not locked.
  3. Request an authorization code (a.k.a. EPP code), which will be sent to the email on your account (which you already had changed in step 1), and will allow EVWebs to complete the transfer. The transfer process will take several business days. Your website may be inaccessible for short periods during the transfer.

It is important to follow these steps in order. You can also email these steps to your domain registrar, and they can help.

Can you create my website without transferring my domain?

Of course. If you've prepaid for your domain hosting elsewhere, or have another reason for not transferring your domain to our service, no problem. It will not affect your new website or its performance. However, you will be responsible for changes made (accidentally or otherwise) to your domain or its settings, and unlike our service, you may have to continue to pay a recurring fee for your domain.

To use your current domain with your new EVWebs website, you wil need to change the nameservers on your domain control panel to: ns1.domain.com & ns2.domain.com. Your domain registrar will be able to help you find and change these settings. You should only make this change when instructed to do so by EVWebs.

How do I manage the Event Calendar on my site?

It's dead simple.
  1. Below the calendar you can input your password into the field provided, then click Admin
  2. You will then see a link to add a new event, or a button to delete one of the events currently in the calendar.

If you need to edit an event, that is not currently supported. However, it is a feature we plan on incorporating in the near future, along with many others!

How do I access my email?

If you have email addresses on your account, you can access them one of two ways:
  • Webmail. You may log into your email by going to http://www.domain.com/mail and entering your email address and the password provided to you. You can also change your settings from here.
  • An E-mail Client. To the left there are instructions on setting up your email on another client. However, you should first login to webmail and set a new email password in the settings.
